How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
When our beloved mother and nanny, Mary Bickford was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, we decided to create a new home for her, one that did more than anything we had found. We wanted it to be an extension of Mary's own home. We wished to create a place that could offer her choices and independence on a daily basis. We wanted to give dignity to Mary throughout her decline. Perhaps most importantly, though, we wanted to enrich her happiness, just as she had done for us and so many others. Her life and her disease exposed us to all the other "Marys" out there, people with their own personal history, homes and family who need exactly the same thing Mary needed. We stand firm on our foundational belief: Created to care for our family, devoted to serving yours.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
At Bickford of Raytown we employ Certified Nursing Aides. All personnel are trained at a level that exceeds state/local requirements. Registered nurses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are a private company that is family owned and managed. We have "hands on" management through our leadership team. Bickford of Raytown has an atrium design, creating a strong "community" feel. We also offer multi-denominational Chaplain services and an "Aging in Place" philosophy.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We currently have 42 branches throughout the Midwest with plans to expand.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Mary Bickford's three grandson's, Mike Eby, Joe Eby, and Andy Eby currently own and operate Bickford Senior Living.
What are your hours of operation?
Although the care of our residents happens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it is best to call between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm CST.
