How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Founder of Elements is a female martial artist with 9 years of training. She holds a degree in behavioral psychology, with interests in women's studies, trauma transformation, and positive psychology. She is a member of the National Women's Martial Arts Association and the Association of Women Martial Arts Instructors; Elements is a Kom Do Kwan member school.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We empower women.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location, and we are non-profit. Our goal is to offer training to women and children of all ages, abilities, socio-economic groups. We are on the bus route, and offer sliding fee tuition. Our funds go back into our business to support the women and children of our community and other non-profits that provide domestic violence services. So, no, no expansions planned.
