Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
The average years of experience of our providers is about 15 years - some more than 20.
What is your primary product or service?
We provide Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for Adults and Adolescents that are in crisis and having difficulty with mood or behavior problems. We also have programs to address addiction, drug and alcohol abuse as well as opiates.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Our providers have a diverse background ranging from former military training; to women's issues; to extensive work with children and teens.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We can provide focused time and energy on the individual that is often lost in outpatient practices. We are easily accessible, even after hours and weekends. This only makes sense, because crisis issues don't wait for an appointment or business hours!
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We currently provide services in downtown Lee's Summit and in the Northland at Englewwod and N Oak Trafficway.
What type of payments do you accept?
Most health insurance plans as well as cash pay arrangements. Unfortunately, Medicare and Medicaid do not cover these services.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
KCIOP is owned and operated by the private company, Kansas City Psychiatric and Psychological Services LLC - owned and operated by the clinicians who provide the services.
What are your hours of operation?
Most of our programs as in the evenings and held three evenings per week. We have one specialized women's program at each location that is held during the day.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The best compliment we can get is when our clients feel they have momentum and going down the right path and are ready to leave us.
